Ingredients

4 servings
  • Vegetable oil(15g)
  • Pork Loin

Center-cut bacon has ~30% less fat than regular. Turkey bacon works as a swap.

  • ¼ tsp salt ($0.01)
  • ¼ Tsp Black Pepper (Freshly Cracked, $0.04)
  • Mushrooms, White, Sliced(120g)
  • Yellow Onion(115g)
  • Garlic(15g)
  • Low Sodium Chicken Broth(60g)
  • Cream, Heavy Whipping(60g)
  • Cream Cheese(57g)

Standard block cream cheese. Neufchatel (1/3 less fat) is a good swap.

  • Spinach(142g)

Instructions

  1. 1Heat the oil in a medium sauté pan over medium-high heat. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. 2Once the pan is hot, gently place the pork in the pan. Let the pork cook undisturbed for 3-4 minutes on each side until a golden-brown crust forms. Remove the cooked pork from the pan and set aside on a plate while you make the sauce.
  3. 3Turn the heat to medium and add mushrooms and onions. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the mushrooms start to brown.
  4. 4Add the garlic to the pan and continue cooking for 1 minute.
  5. 5Deglaze the pan with the chicken broth and let it reduce by half, 2-3 minutes.
  6. 6Next, add heavy cream and cream cheese and simmer for about 2-4 minutes. Cook until your sauce has thickened and cream cheese has melted.
  7. 7Lastly, add in the fresh spinach and cook for 2-3 minutes until wilted.
  8. 8Return the pork and any juices back into the sauce to warm through.

Common questions

How much protein does Creamy Pork Chops have per serving?

Each serving has only 4g of protein and 167 calories, with 14g fat and 7g carbs. This is not a viable protein source on its own and would require pairing with a high-protein side to meet macro targets.

How long does Creamy Pork Chops take to make?

Quick prep on the stovetop yields 4 servings in a single batch, so cooking time is minimal. However, the minimal protein content means this works better as a side dish than a primary entrée for macro tracking.

Is Creamy Pork Chops good for fat loss?

At 167 calories per serving, this recipe is calorie-light, but at only 4g protein it fails to support muscle retention during a fat loss phase. You'd need to combine it with a high-protein item like chicken breast or Greek yogurt to make the meal macro-compatible.
