Ingredients
- •1 Yellow Onion(150g)
- •2 lbs 96/4 Ground Beef
Extra-lean ground beef (96% lean / 4% fat). Walmart carries Great Value 96/4.
- •4 Rotini Pasta(228g)
- •1 Fat-Free Cheddar Cheese(227g)
- •1 Fat-Free Cheddar Cheese(227g)
- •24 oz Canned Diced Tomatoes
Instructions
- 1Dice the onion into small pieces and set aside.
- 2Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook for 8–10 minutes, breaking it apart with a spoon, until no longer pink and browned throughout. Drain excess fat if needed.
- 3Add the diced onion to the browned beef along with onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Stir and cook for 2–3 minutes over medium heat until fragrant.
- 4In your crockpot, create the first layer: spread half of the diced tomatoes on the bottom, followed by half of the rotini pasta (uncooked), then half of the beef mixture, and finally one bag of the fat-free cheddar.
- 5Repeat the layering: remaining diced tomatoes, remaining rotini pasta, remaining beef mixture, and the second bag of fat-free cheddar on top.
- 6Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours, or on high for 3–4 hours, until the pasta is tender and the cheese is melted and bubbling around the edges.
- 7Let the lasagna rest for 5 minutes, then divide evenly into 6 airtight containers while hot, ensuring each portion has layers of pasta, beef, and cheese.
